Arnold Schilder herbenoemd als IAASB-voorzitter

De International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) heeft prof.dr. Arnold Schilder RA herbenoemd als voorzitter International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB) voor de periode 2012-2014.
Schilder startte op 1 januari 2009 als voorzitter van de standard setter van de IFAC.
Schilder was voor zijn benoeming als IAASB-voorzitter directeur bij De Nederlandsche Bank en lid van de Public Interest Oversight Board (PIOB), het toezichthoudend orgaan op de IAASB. In 1994 en 1995 was hij voorzitter van het NIVRA.
"I am delighted to announce that Arnold Schilder will continue to serve as chairman, which will provide for stability and ongoing leadership of IAASB operations well into the future," aldus Ian Ball, ceo van de IFAC. "Arnold has been a superb chairman of the IAASB as it implements its first strategy and work program after the Clarity Project. His leadership has enabled the IAASB to make significant progress on standards for review and compilation engagements, which are particularly relevant to small- and medium-sized practices (SMPs)."
