Philip Johnson nieuwe president FEE

De Europese koepel van beroepsorganisaties van accountants FEE heeft de Brit Philip Johnson gekozen als nieuwe voorzitter. Hij volgt de Nederlander Hans van Damme op, die de afgelopen twee jaar voorzitter was van de organisatie.

Johnson was de afgelopen twee jaar deputy president van de FEE. In deze functie wordt hij opgevolgd door André Kilesse, oud-voorzitter van de Belgische beroepsorganisatie Instituut der Bedrijfsrevisoren (IBR). Beiden zijn benoemd voor een periode van twee jaar.

Johnson verwacht dat het twee spannende jaren zullen zijn. "Changes in the profession which will be brought about by the outcome from the EC consultation into audit policy as detailed in their recently published Green Paper, along with developments in integrated reporting, XBRL, review and compilation together with the implementation of ISAs and the changing environment in financial reporting, ethics and audit oversight will all be very demanding. However, these challenges will also provide immense opportunity for the profession. I am sure that my experience which has been acquired during some 48 years in the profession will stand me in good stead to influence the outcome of these matters over the next two years."
